  • sugar - 1 c
  • butter - 6 Tbsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • grated rind of 1 lemon
  • lemon extract - 2 Tbsp
  • baking powder
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • flour
  • yellow food coloring - 1 item
  • lemon juice - 3 Tbsp

How to make lemon bread:

Topping:1/2 c. sugar3 Tbsp. lemon juice Mix all ingredients (except topping) and pour into a greased and floured bread pan. Bake at 325° for 45 to 50 minutes. Makes 1 loaf.

Topping: Mix sugar and lemon juice. Heat until sugar dissolves. Pour this mixture over baked bread and bake 5 to 8 minutes more.
