Jalapeno jelly
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 c
- cider vinegar
- green food coloring - 1 item
- bottle liquid pectin - 1 oz
- seeded and ground green peppers - 3/4 c
- seeded and ground jalapeno chiles - 1/2 c
How to make jalapeno jelly:
Mix green peppers, chiles, sugar and vinegar and bring to rolling boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Add pectin and 4 or 5 drops food coloring. Mix well. Strain into hot sterilized jars and seal. Makes about 6 (half pints).Makes a terrific topping for hamburgers and other meats; or for a quick appetizer, simply spoon over cream cheese and serve with crackers.
