Ingredients/Components
- margarine - 1/4 c
- ground beef - 1/2 lb
- celery, chopped - 1/4 c
- onion, chopped
- can tomato sauce - 21 oz
- brown sugar - 4 oz
- lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
How to make coney island sauce:
Saute onion, beef and celery in margarine for 10 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce, brown sugar and spices. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes to blend flavors. Add to hot dogs. Sauce may be frozen.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Meat, Beef.
