Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • olive oil - 2 Tbsp
  • chopped parsley - 1/4 c
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • onion slices - 1/2 c
  • monosodium glutamate - 1/2 tsp
  • cans 2 c - 2 oz
  • cans 4 c - 2 lb
  • oregano or sage
  • can boiled sliced mushrooms - 1 oz

How to make italian spaghetti sauce:

Cook onion in hot oil until golden. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients; simmer, uncovered, 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until thick. Remove bay leaf. Serve on hot cooked spaghetti. Pass bowl of grated Parmesan cheese. Makes 6 servings.
