Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • oregano
  • cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
  • cloves garlic - 2 item
  • parsley - 1/4 c
  • olive oil - 2 Tbsp
  • can mushrooms - 1 oz
  • onion - 1/2 c
  • cans tomatoes - 2 lb
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • monosodium glutamate - 1/2 tsp
  • cheese as needed - 1 item

How to make italian meat sauce:

In a large skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer, uncovered, 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is nice and thick. Stir occasionally. Remove bay leaf.

One pound of spaghetti will serve 4 to 6 as a main dish with sauce and meat balls.
