Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 3
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- dry yeast dissolved in 1/2 c - 1 pkg
How to make icebox rolls:
Cream Crisco and sugar; add boiling water. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast, egg and salt. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight or until needed. Make rolls into desired shape; dip in melted butter. Place in pan and let rise 1 to 2 hours. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.Note: 1 cake of yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup cold water may be substituted for dry yeast mixture.
Suggestion: Use muffin tin to bake rolls; make 3 small balls of dough and put in each hole; let rise and bake.
