  • sugar - 6 c
  • vinegar - 3 c
  • chopped onions - 2 c
  • celery seed - 1 Tbsp
  • mustard seed - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped green tomatoes - 7 lb
  • pickling salt - 4 Tbsp
  • chopped peppers red and green - 4 c

How to make green tomato sweet relish:

Mix tomatoes, peppers, onions and salt. Let stand for 1 hour; drain well. Add remaining ingredients. Tie spices in a cloth bag and bring to a boil. Simmer 20 minutes. Pour at once into hot sterilized jars. Makes 6 pints.
