Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 3 c
  • water - 1 c
  • vinegar - 3 c
  • chopped onions - 4 c
  • celery seed
  • chopped cabbage - 4 c
  • mustard seed
  • turmeric - 1/2 Tbsp
  • chopped green tomatoes - 4 c
  • canning salt - 1/2 c
  • hot peppers 1/2 red - 6 item
  • bell peppers 1/2 red - 6 item

How to make mixed pickles:

Mix first 5 ingredients together, put in refrigerator with 1/2 cup canning salt sprinkled on top. Refrigerate overnight.

Heat liquid ingredients with sugar. Add vegetables. Cook 5 minutes. Put into jars and seal while hot.
