Ingredients/Components

  • cup scalded milk - 1 item
  • cup sugar - 1/4 item
  • tablespoons shortening - 6 item
  • package yeast - 1 item
  • tablespoons warm water - 2 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • cups flour - 4 item

How to make granny's rolls:

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Cool to lukewarm. Combine milk, sugar and shortening. Add diluted yeast, eggs and 1/2 flour. Mix well. Add remainder of flour slowly stirring to make a soft dough. Refrigerate covered overnight. Punch down. Make into rolls. Let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes until brown.
