  • all-purpose flour - 2 c
  • vegetable oil for frying - 1 item
  • confectioners sugar or maple syrup - 1 item

How to make funnel cakes:

In a deep bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix eggs and milk together and pour into dry ingredients. Stir with a whisk until batter is smooth. Pour shortening into a heavy skillet to the depth of 1/2 to 2 inches. Heat until hot
