Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 2 c
  • milk - 1 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • water - 2 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • diced salt pork - 1/4 c
  • large potatoes, pared and cubed - 4 item
  • medium size onions, diced - 3 item
  • skinless scrod or cod fillets - 2 lb

How to make fish chowder:

Saute salt pork and onions in large pan. Add potatoes and 1 cup water. Simmer 5 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Place fish on top of potatoes and onions. Add remaining cup of water. Simmer until fish flakes easily when touched with a fork. Add half and half and milk. Stir in butter, salt and pepper. Heat through over low heat and serve.
