Fish chowder
Ingredients/Components
- haddock fillets - 2 lb
- large onion - 1 item
- stalks celery, sliced small - 2 item
- medium potatoes, sliced - 2 item
- water, salted - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- milk - 1 qt
- butter - 1/2 c
- water plain - 1/2 c
How to make fish chowder:
In small kettle, cut up haddock. Cook until tender in 1/2 cup water; lay aside. In large iron or heavy kettle, cut up onion, celery and potatoes. Cook until tender in 2 cups water (salted). When tender, put in cooked fish. Add salt, pepper, milk and butter. Put on low flame until well heated. Do not bring to a boil.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Chowders, Cod.
