  • large loaf sandwich bread, remove crust - 1/4 item
  • shredded mild or medium Cheddar cheese - 1/4 lb
  • eggs, slightly beaten - 4 item
  • milk - 1 pt
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • prepared mustard - 1 tsp
  • onion powder not salt - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • slices bacon - 8 item

How to make egg casserole:

To Serve 12 to 15:1/2 large loaf sandwich bread, remove crust1/2 lb. shredded mild or medium Cheddar cheese9 eggs, slightly beaten1 qt. milk1 tsp. salt2 tsp. prepared mustard1 tsp. onion powder (not salt)1/2 tsp. pepper3/4 lb. bacon Combine bread cubes and cheese in bottom of greased baking dish. Combine eggs, milk, salt, mustard, onion powder and pepper. Mix until blended. Pour over bread mixture. Let sit in refrigerator overnight. Have ready bacon cooked until crisp. Drain well and crumble. Sprinkle over egg mixture and bake at 325° for 55 minutes or until eggs are set. Will puff up then settle when taken from oven.

You can also use bulk sausage or chopped ham instead of bacon.

Use 8 x 8 x 2-inch casserole for small serving, 9 x 13 x 2-inch casserole for large serving.
