  • salt - 1/2 tsp

  • paprika
  • pepper
  • garlic salt - 1 Tbsp
  • poultry seasoning - 1/4 tsp
  • beaten egg yolk - 1 item
  • cut-up frying chicken - 2 to
  • Crisco enough for deep frying - 1 item
  • flat beer or water * - 3/4 c

How to make crispy fried chicken:

Seasoned Flour:1 1/2 c. flour1 1/2 tsp. pepper1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning1 Tbsp. garlic salt1 1/2 tsp. paprika Crispy Batter:2/3 c. flour1/8 tsp. pepper3/4 c. flat beer or water *1/2 tsp. salt1 beaten egg yolk Seasoned Flour: Combine all ingredients and set aside.

Crispy Batter: Combine flour and seasonings in medium bowl. Combine egg yolk and beer or water. Add gradually to dry ingredients.

Heat Crisco to 365° in deep saucepan or fryer to depth of 2 inches. Moisten chicken pieces. Dip in seasoned flour, then batter, then back in seasoned flour. Fry in hot Crisco until chicken is done. Drain on paper towels.

*I you are using beer and batter becomes too thick, add a little extra beer.
