  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
  • milk, divided
  • butter or margarine, melted - 2 Tbsp
  • white pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • jar dried beef, chopped - 1 oz
  • beef flavored bouillon granules - 1 tsp
  • frozen puff pastry shells, baked - 8 item

How to make creamed chipped beef:

Saute beef in butter in a large skillet 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in 3 1/2 cups milk; simmer 2 minutes, stirring often. Combine flour and bouillon granules in a small bowl. Gradually stir in remaining 1 cup milk. Gradually stir flour mixture into beef mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and white pepper. Spoon mixture into baked puffed pastry shells. Yields 8 servings.
