Creamed cabbage
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1/2 item
- grated Velveeta cheese - 3/4 c
- can onion rings - 1 item
- White Sauce - 2 c
- large head cabbage, cut up in medium size pieces - 1 item
How to make creamed cabbage:
White Sauce:2 c. milk1/2 stick butter2 Tbsp. flour1/4 tsp. salt White Sauce: Mix butter and flour until smooth. Add salt; add 1/2 cup of milk and heat slowly, stirring constantly. Add remainder of milk and cook until desired consistency, stirring constantly.Boil cabbage until tender. Drain well; add White Sauce. Top with cheese; repeat layers. Salt and pepper to taste. Top with onion rings. Bake at 350° until cheese is melted and bubbles. Serves 6 to 8.
