Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 6 c
  • water - 2 c
  • all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
  • butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • chopped onion - 1/2 c
  • white pepper - 1 tsp
  • chicken flavored bouillon cubes - 4 item

How to make cream of broccoli soup:

Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan; add broccoli. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

In Dutch oven, saute onion in butter over low heat about 10 minutes or until tender. Add flour, stirring until smooth; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and bouillon cubes; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened. Add broccoli; cooking water and pepper. Simmer, stirring occasionally for about 20 to 30 minutes. Yields 9 cups.
