Country captain chicken
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- toasted almonds - 1/2 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- curry powder - 1 tsp
- diced celery - 1/2 c
- chicken - 1 item
- can mushrooms - 1 item
- rice - 2 c
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- cooked green peas
- 2 can tomatoes
- currants - 1/2 c
How to make country captain chicken:
Salt, pepper, flour and fry chicken. Make a brown gravy where chicken was fried. To this, add all ingredients, except rice, almonds and currants; add the fried chicken. Let cook slowly with lid on for 30 to 40 minutes. Cook the rice. When the chicken is done, pour over rice. Top with the toasted almonds and currants that have been boiled a few minutes.
