Cornbread salad
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1/3 c
- large egg - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 1 c
- small onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
- medium tomatoes, peeled and chopped - 4 item
- sweet pickles, chopped - 1/2 c
- sweet pickle juice - 1/4 c
- cornbread mix - 1 (8
- strips bacon, cooked and crumbled - 9 item
How to make cornbread salad:
Cook cornbread; cool, crumble and set aside. Combine tomatoes, peppers, onion, pickles and bacon. Toss gently. Combine mayonnaise and pickle juice; stir well. Set aside.Layer 1/2 of cornbread, tomatoes and mayonnaise mixture in a large bowl. Repeat layers with remaining mix, making 6 layers in all. Cover and chill 2 hours before serving.
