Cornbread pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- water
- baking powder - 1/2 item
- self-rising flour - 1 Tbsp
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- ground beef - 1 lb
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- can tomato soup - 1 oz
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- can whole kernel corn - 1 item
- bacon drippings - 1 tsp
- Add soup, corn, water, salt and pepper
How to make cornbread pie:
Brown beef with onion and green pepper; drain. Add soup, corn, water, salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes. Place in Pam sprayed 13 x 9 baking dish.Topping:3/4 c. self-rising cornmeal1 Tbsp. sugar1/2 baking powder1 egg, well beaten1 Tbsp. self-rising flour1/2 c. milk1 tsp. bacon drippings Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Side dish, 3 steps or less.
