Cornbread pie
Ingredients/Components
- ground chuck - 1 lb
- large onion - 1 item
- can tomato soup - 1 item
- water - 2 c
- corn - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 3/4 tsp
- chili pepper - 1 Tbsp
- chopped green peppers - 1/2 c
- Dash and garlic powder
- Add soup, water, corn, green peppers and seasonings
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 1 Tbsp
- baking powder
How to make cornbread pie:
Brown beef and onion in skillet. Add soup, water, corn, green peppers and seasonings. Mix well and simmer 15 minutes. Fill a 10-inch iron skillet or a 10-inch casserole (3/4 full).Topping:3/4 c. corn meal1 Tbsp. sugar1 Tbsp. flour1/2 tsp. salt1 1/2 tsp. baking powder Sift all together. Add 1 egg and 1/2 cup milk. Stir lightly and add 1 tablespoon oil. Stir well. Cover meat mixture with topping. Bake at 350° for 18 to 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Side dish, 3 steps or less.
