Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 3 4
  • cold water - 1 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • garlic salt - 1 tsp
  • can bean sprouts - 1 item
  • large onion, sliced thin - 1 item
  • stew beef, sliced very thin easier to slice when 1/2 frozen
  • stalk celery, sliced very thin crosswise - 1/2 item
  • large bell pepper, sliced thin - 1 item
  • soy sauce and pepper to taste - 1 item

How to make chop suey:

Cook meat almost tender. Add soy sauce and other seasonings and a small amount of water while cooking. When meat is tender, add onions, celery and green pepper and thicken to desired thickness with cornstarch mixed with 1 cup of cold water. Simmer only a few minutes. Add bean sprouts. Serve over cooked rice.
