Golden chiffon cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- egg yolks - 7 item
- cold water - 3/4 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- egg whites - 1 c
- powdered sugar - 2 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- Wesson oil - 1/2 c
- Beat until smooth
- rind and juice of 1/2 lemon
How to make golden chiffon cake:
Combine first 4 ingredients; make a deep well and add next 5 ingredients in order. Beat until smooth. In large bowl, put egg whites and cream of tartar. Whip until very stiff. Pour egg yolk mixture gradually over whipped whites, gently folding with spatula. Do not stir or beat. Pour into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan at once and bake at 325° for 55 minutes and then at 350° for 10 minutes. Loosen sides with spatula and turn bottom side up until cool. It should loosen and fall out.
