Ingredients/Components
- ground beef - 1 lb
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1 item
- whole, peeled tomatoes
- bay leaves - 2 item
- chili powder - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- cayenne - 1/4 tsp
- water as needed - 1 item
- paprika - 1/8 tsp
- can kidney beans - 1 1/2
- cloves - 3 item
- stick cinnamon - 1/2 item
- a few dash of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce - 1 item
- Sazon Goya seasoning with cilantro and achiote* - 2 pkg
How to make chili con carne:
*Comes boxed in stores.Crumble meat and brown. Add onion and green pepper. Add tomatoes and seasoning. Cover. Simmer gently for 2 hours, adding bean liquid and water a little at a time. Add beans and cook 1/2 hour more. Remove bay leaves. Serve and enjoy.
