Ingredients/Components
- chili powder - 1 tsp
- cloves garlic, crushed - 4 item
- celery seed - 2 tsp
- thyme - 1 tsp
- beef broth - 2 c
- beef cubes - 1/2 1
- canned tomatoes - 1 pt
- pinto or Amasazi beans - 1 c
- dried, deseeded hot chiles - 3 item
- dried tomato halves, chopped in 1/4-inch bits - 4 item
- herb vinegar such as thyme - 2 tsp
- can green chiles mild, which is still hot - 1/2 item
- chopped ancho chili optional - 1/2 c
How to make chili:
Coat the beef cubes with flour and braise in peanut oil. Cook the beans 1 1/2 hours and drain. Add all the other ingredients. Simmer until done.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, One Dish meal, Chili.
