Ingredients/Components

  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • light corn syrup - 1/2 c
  • popped corn - 8 qt
  • light brown sugar - 2 c
  • pinch of cream of tartar - 1 item

How to make caramel corn:

Mix sugar, syrup and butter in a heavy pan. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add soda, salt and cream of tartar. Pour immediately over popped corn. Mix lightly but well. Place in a large roaster pan. Bake at 200° for 1 hour. Stir once while baking. Pour on waxed paper and separate.
