Chicken pot pie
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chicken broth
- chopped onions - 1 c
- sliced carrots - 1 c
- sliced celery - 1 c
- thyme - 1/4 tsp
- frozen peas, thawed - 1 pkg
- sliced mushrooms optional - 2 c
- chopped chicken - 3 c
How to make chicken pot pie:
Preheat oven to 425°. Melt butter. Add onions and celery; cook until soft. Add mushrooms; cook 3 minutes. Stir in flour; cook 1 minute. Stir in chicken broth and milk; cook until thickened. Add peas and seasoning; set aside. Cook carrots in 1 cup water for 5 minutes. Drain and add with chicken to sauce. Spoon into a 12 x 9-inch baking dish.
