Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • milk - 1 c
  • self-rising flour - 1 c
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • can cream of celery soup - 1 item
  • chicken - 1 item
  • hard-boiled eggs - 3 item
  • stick melted oleo - 1 item
  • medium chopped onion optional - 1 item

How to make chicken pie:

Boil chicken and when tender, remove from bones. Place chicken in an extra deep casserole (makes a lot!). Add the chopped, hard-boiled eggs on top of the chicken. Add the chicken and celery soups, mixed with the 2 cups of chicken broth.

Mix the melted oleo with the self-rising flour and the cup of milk. Pour on top of soup mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

If desired, add the onion to the melted oleo and saute until tender. If using the peas, cook as directed on package, drain and place on top of eggs before adding the soup mixture.
