Chicken and wild rice casserole
Ingredients/Components
- cup oleo - 1/8 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- ribs celery chopped - 2 item
- 8 oz can water chestnuts - 1 item
- 1/2 cups diced cooked chicken - 2 item
- cups grated cheese - 2 item
- can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
- cup sour cream - 1 item
- cup milk or evaporated milk - 1/2 item
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- seasoned bread crumbs - 1 item
How to make chicken and wild rice casserole:
Prepare rice according to package and cool. Melt oleo in skillet. Add onions, celery and water chestnuts. Saut 10 minutes (or until tender.) Stir in rice, chicken, 1 1/2 cup cheese, and next 5 ingredients. Spoon into greased dish, (13x9). Top with seasoned bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cheese and bake 5 more minutes. Serves 4.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, Casseroles.
