Cheeseburger pie
Ingredients/Components
- ground meat - 1 lb
- green pepper - 1/2 item
- small onion - 1 item
- canned tomato sauce - 4 oz
- egg - 1 item
- milk - 1/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- grated Cheddar cheese - 8 oz
- pie shell, thawed if frozen - 1 item
How to make cheeseburger pie:
Brown ground meat. Light salt and pepper. Finely chop onion and green pepper. Add to ground meat. Drain off excess fat. Add 4 to 6 ounces of tomato sauce. Cook for 10 minutes or so to blend flavors. Spoon meat mixture into pie shell.In mixing bowl, beat egg, milk, salt, dry mustard and Worcestershire sauce together. Add grated cheese. Mix. Spoon cheese mixture over meat mixture. Place on cookie sheet (sometimes spills over). Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 425°. Makes 8 servings.
