Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • egg yolks - 3 item
  • melted butter - 2 Tbsp
  • stiffly beaten egg whites - 3 item
  • soft bread crumbs - 1 c
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • milk, scalded - 1 c
  • grated American cheese - 1/2 3/4

How to make cheese fondue:

Combine milk, crumbs, cheese, butter and seasonings. Stir in yolks. Fold in whites. Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Place in pan of hot water; bake in slow oven at 325° until firm, 30 to 45 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
