Cantonese fried rice
Ingredients/Components
- chicken broth or 2 chicken bouillon cubes, dissolved in water
- long grain rice - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- cleaned shrimp - 1 lb
- cubed, cooked chicken - 1 item
- cubed, cooked pork, beef or ham - 1 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- finely chopped green onions tops, too - 1/4 c
- soy sauce
- slivered almonds - 1 item
How to make cantonese fried rice:
Bring broth to a boil. Add rice. Cover and cook until rice is done. In a large skillet, place the oil and egg; cut egg into strips as it cooks. Add shrimp, chicken and pork, about 3/4 cup altogether. Add cooked rice and season with salt, pepper, green onions and soy sauce. Blend together and cook over low heat for 7 to 8 minutes.
