Broccoli casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- Cheddar cheese, grated
- hard-boiled eggs, sliced - 7 item
- stick butter or margarine, melted - 1 item
- heads broccoli - 2 item
- white sauce - 4 c
- Keebler crackers about 12, crushed - 1 pkg
How to make broccoli casserole:
White Sauce:2 Tbsp. butter salt and pepper1 c. milk2 Tbsp. flour White Sauce: Cook and stir until thickened and smooth.Clean and cut broccoli and stems into bite size pieces. Slice stems in round circles. Steam broccoli for 10 minutes; cool. Butter a 2-quart casserole. Cover bottom of casserole with broccoli, white sauce, Cheddar cheese and eggs on top. Repeat with a second layer. Cover top with crushed cracker crumbs. Drizzle melted butter over top. Bake 35 minutes at 350° until golden brown on top.
Asparagus can be used in place of broccoli.
