Canadian cheese soup
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 4 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- flour - 3/4 c
- water - 2 c
- grated carrot - 1 c
- onion, chopped - 4 Tbsp
- chicken stock or bouillon - 4 c
- celery, chopped finely - 1 c
- sharp cheese, diced Old English - 1 lb
How to make canadian cheese soup:
Cook celery and carrot in boiling water until tender. Cook onion in butter until tender, but not brown. Stir in flour. Add milk and chicken broth; cook over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add cheese; stir to blend. Stir in vegetables and water.
