Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1 qt
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 1/4 c
  • cornstarch
  • soda - 1/8 tsp
  • chicken broth - 1 qt
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • celery, diced - 1/2 c
  • carrots, diced - 1/2 c
  • parsley, chopped - 2 Tbsp
  • cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
  • onion, finely diced - 1/2 c

How to make canadian cheese soup:

Melt butter and saut?© vegetables on low heat until soft. Add flour and cornstarch and cook until bubbly. Add stock and milk to make a smooth sauce. Add soda and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Add parsley before serving.
