Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- butter - 1/4 c
- soda - 1/8 tsp
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- chicken broth - 1 qt
- carrots - 1/2 c
- onion - 1/2 c
- celery - 1/2 c
- medium white sauce - 1/2 gal
- Old English cheese - 1 c
How to make canadian cheese soup:
Melt butter. Chop or grate all vegetables finely. Add stock, soda and paprika. Simmer 15 minutes. Add cut-up cheese and white sauce. Simmer until cheese is melted. Add salt if needed.Suggestions: Use a medium or light white sauce. Saute vegetables until tender in butter before adding stock. If using canned chicken broth, you may not need salt.
