Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2/3 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 5 7
  • soda - 1/4 tsp
  • buttermilk
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c - 2 pkg

How to make buttermilk rolls:

Scald buttermilk. Add to butter, sugar and salt. Place in a large bowl. Cool to warm. Add dissolved yeast and eggs. Stir in flour mixed with the soda and salt. Knead. Grease dough with butter. Let rise in warm place until double in size. Knead down. Shape into rolls. Let rise again until double. Bake at 375° until golden brown.

Or place dough on floured board and roll into a circle. Spread with butter. Cut into wedges. Roll each wedge starting with widest edge. Pinch to fasten. Place on buttered cookie sheets. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 375° until golden brown.
