- sugar - 1/2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- lard - 1/2 c
- cake yeast - 1 item
- buttermilk dissolve yeast in milk - 2 c
How to make buttermilk rolls:
Mix sugar, salt, soda, baking powder and shortening. Add buttermilk and yeast. Then add flour. Roll and allow to rise until double, about 1 hour. Place remaining dough in covered dish in refrigerator and use as needed. Shape into rolls and place on greased baking sheet. Heat oven to 400°.
