Ingredients/Components

  • dark brown sugar - 1/4 c
  • dark molasses - 1 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • mustard - 1 Tbsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • hot pepper sauce - 1 tsp
  • minced garlic - 1 Tbsp
  • small onion - 1 item
  • ground pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • white vinegar - 2 Tbsp
  • spareribs - 6 lb

How to make barbecued spareribs:

Parboil spareribs for 15 minutes with celery, onion and pepper; let water cover ribs. Remove ribs and drain. Baste with sauce. Grill for 45 minutes over low fire, turning and basting frequently until done.

Sauce: Combine tomato paste, water, sugar, garlic, hot pepper sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, vinegar and molasses. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
