Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- butter, divided - 5 Tbsp
- dry bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- cheese, shredded
- cooked potatoes, diced - 4 c
How to make au gratin potatoes:
Melt 3 Tbsp. butter; blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stir in milk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in cheese. Layer 1/2 of potatoes and 1/2 of cheese sauce in 2 quart casserole. Repeat. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter; stir in bread crumbs and sprinkle over top.
