Bacon rice stuffing
Ingredients/Components
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- sage
- large onion, thinly sliced - 1 item
- slices bacon - 4 item
- Salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- cup chicken broth - 1 item
- cup dry white wine - 2/3 item
- ounces sliced mushrooms - 4 item
- 1/2 cups uncooked long-cooking rice - 1 item
How to make bacon rice stuffing:
Cook bacon until crisp. Drain, reserving drippings. Saut?© onion and mushrooms in bacon drippings until onion is transparent, but now brown. Add rice and cook until golden. Stir in broth, wine and seasonings. Mix well. Simmer until rice is tender. Add egg, mixing lightly. Crumble in bacon. Yield: 6 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Rice, Stuffings Dressings.
