Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or stick margarine - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- chocolate chips - 1 c
- jar maraschino cherries, cut up - 1 oz
- powdered sugar - 1 c
- cherry juice - 1 item
How to make treasure chest bars:
Sift dry ingredients. Set aside. Cream together brown and white sugars and butter. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating after each. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Drain cherries, saving juice. Add nuts, chocolate chips and cherries. Bake in jelly roll pan at 325° for 30 minutes. Make frosting with powdered sugar and cherry juice.
