Ingredients/Components
- to 4 ripe medium tomatoes - 3 item
- deep dish pie crust - 1 item
- chopped onion or scallions - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- sharp cheese* - 1 c
- mayonnaise* - 1/2 1
- basil - 1 tsp
- chives - 1 tsp
- Parmesan cheese - 3 4
How to make tomato pie:
Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on pie crust and brown according to directions. Peel and slice tomatoes into thick slices. Alternate tomatoes and onions, sprinkling seasonings. Mix cheese and mayonnaise; put on top of tomato slices. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350°. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.*Other cheeses can be used or cheese and mayonnaise quantities increased.
