  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 4 Tbsp
  • sticks margarine - 2 item
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • milk or buttermilk - 6 Tbsp
  • sour cream or buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • flour unsifted - 2 c
  • Cool slightly

How to make texas sheet cake:

Bring to a boil the margarine, water and cocoa. Cool slightly. Mix the remaining ingredients; add cocoa mixture slowly and beat. Pour thin batter into greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake 25 minutes in a 350° oven.Glaze:1 stick margarine4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk or buttermilk1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped walnuts In a small saucepan, heat the margarine, cocoa and milk until melted. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Spread on hot cake right out of the oven.
