Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- water - 1 c
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 lb
- milk or buttermilk - 6 Tbsp
- sour cream or buttermilk - 1/2 c
- flour unsifted - 2 c
- Cool slightly
How to make texas sheet cake:
Bring to a boil the margarine, water and cocoa. Cool slightly. Mix the remaining ingredients; add cocoa mixture slowly and beat. Pour thin batter into greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake 25 minutes in a 350° oven.Glaze:1 stick margarine4 Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk or buttermilk1 (1 lb.) box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped walnuts In a small saucepan, heat the margarine, cocoa and milk until melted.
