Ingredients/Components

  • milk - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 2 Tbsp
  • egg, well beaten - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onions - 1/2 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • dry bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • ground pork - 1/2 lb

How to make swedish meatballs:

Melt margarine in a skillet; saute onions over low heat, stirring constantly until golden color. Remove from heat. In a bowl, mix together onions, ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, milk, egg, salt and pepper. Make into meatballs the size of large walnuts. Return to skillet; brown meatballs on all sides. Cover and cook over low heat about 10 minutes or until done. Makes about 20 meatballs.
