  • dry bread crumbs - 3 c
  • light cream
  • ground beef
  • ground pork - 3/4 lb
  • ground veal - 3/4 lb
  • milk
  • egg yolks or 3 whole eggs - 6 item
  • plus 2 Tbsp - 1/4 c
  • salt - 3 Tbsp
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • shortening - 1 item

How to make swedish meatballs:

In large bowl, soak bread crumbs in cream. Mix in meat thoroughly. Stir in remaining ingredients, except shortening. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls. Melt shortening in large skillet. Brown and cook meatballs. Serve meatballs from chafing dish. Keep "seconds" warm in the oven. Makes 25 servings.
