Ingredients/Components

  • miniature marshmallows - 1 c
  • frozen strawberries two 10 oz - 2 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • flour
  • solid shortening - 1/2 c
  • sugar
  • baking powder - 3 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item

How to make strawberry shortcut cake:

Generously grease bottom only of a 13 x 9-inch pan. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan. Thoroughly combine completely thawed berries and syrup with dry gelatin; set aside.

In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping side of bowl occasionally. Pour batter evenly over marshmallows in pan. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
