Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- miniature marshmallows - 1 c
- sliced strawberries, frozen in syrup and thawed - 2 c
How to make strawberry shortcut cake:
Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle the marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan and set aside. Thoroughly combine the strawberries and syrup with the gelatin and set aside.In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, shortening, baking powder, salt, milk, vanilla and eggs. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat for 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour over marshmallows. Spoon strawberry mixture over the batter and bake for 45 to 50 minutes at 350°.
