Strawberry shortcut cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- miniature marshmallows - 1 c
- two 10 oz - 2 c
How to make strawberry shortcut cake:
Generously grease bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking pan; sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan.Thoroughly combine thawed strawberries and syrup with dry Jell-O. Set aside.
No need to sift flour. Measure by lightly spooning into cup and leveling off.
In large mixing bowl, combine flour and all remaining ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides occasionally. Pour batter evenly over marshmallows. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm or cool with ice cream or whipped cream.
