Split pea soup
Ingredients/Components
- 2 1/4 c - 1 lb
- water - 2 qt
- chopped onion - 1 c
- garlic salt - 1/4 tsp
- dried marjoram - 1/4 tsp
- chopped celery - 1 c
- chopped carrot - 1 c
How to make split pea soup:
In large saucepan, soak peas overnight in water (or combine peas and water). Bring to boil, about 2 minutes. Add ham bone, onion, garlic salt, marjoram and dash of black pepper to pea mixture. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours, stirring constantly. Remove ham bone. Cut off meat. Dice meat. Add to soup, along with remaining ingredients.
